Assembly:  USE A SCANT ¼” SEAM ALLOWANCE

Begin by making your pieced rail blocks from the 2 ½” strips, one of each color.  Make 4 of each strip set.  Color #1 on top, Color #2 in the center, and Color #3 on bottom.

  Make 4 – 6 ½” x 30 ½”

  Make 4 – 6 ½” x 18 ½”

  Make 4 – 6 ½” x 6 ½”

Begin building your quilt top from the center section with 3 rows of 3 blocks, being sure of proper placement of the rail blocks, and alternating with the Black 6 ½” squares.

Build the middle section by adding two 6 ½” x 18 ½” rails to the sides of the center section.  Then piece 2 Black 6 ½” squares to the ends of the other two rails for the top and bottom.

Finally, complete by adding two 6 ½” x 30 ½” rails to the sides as before.  And then piece 2 squares to the ends of the last two rails, as before, for the top and bottom

Enjoy!
