Ninth Block

The 9th block in this series is the Turnstile block. You will need to make four 12” blocks.

Cutting Instructions for 4 Blocks:

            Light Scraps: Cut 2 – 8 7/8” Squares, Cut once on the Diagonal
                                    Cut 4 – 2 1/2” x 13” Rectangles
                                    Cut 4 – 2 1/2” x 11” Rectangles

Dark Scraps: Cut 2 – 8 7/8” Squares, Cut once on the Diagonal
Cut 4 – 2 1/2” x 13” Rectangles
Cut 4 – 2 1/2” x 11” Rectangles

Assembly:

Following diagrams, sew block together in triangle sections as shown--Light Rectangles to Dark Triangles and Dark Rectangles to Light Triangles. Always begin stitching where indicated at the “top” of the triangle. Trim edges even with triangle lower edges. Join triangles, light to dark. Your blocks should measure 12 1/2” unfinished.
