Meet Mary.....
Have you
known a person who is so nice to be around that when they come in the door, the
room gets brighter?.......And smells better?...That's Mary!
I'd like for you to get to know this Tulsa quilter a little better, if you don't already, that is....
Mary M. Covey is an award winning quilter, a self-starting entrepreneur, and owner of her quilt pattern company, The Good Life. Mary has been quilting over 20 years and shares quilting with others through speaking engagements and educational seminars as well.
Mary is well-known through various quilting circles from television to publications. She devotes herself completely (other than to husband, John, and her family) to designing quilts and to teaching others about that passion. You may also know her from some of her books that she has authored, such as:

Appliqué
Through the House
Leisure Arts, 2003
These are quick-to-finish appliqué projects for your home. 15 different projects like: Potholders, pillows, table runner, candle covers, little quilts, placemats, and more. A delightful selection of projects to make your home "Spring"!
or.......

Celebrations!
Martingale & Co., 2002
Need a quilt to mark a milestone or landmark in time, such as a housewarming, a sweet sixteen celebration? Mary has 8 projects in this book for such treasured family and friends events. Some are quick last-minute type quilts and some are large quilts.
or......
(and this is my personal favorite)......

A
Snowman's Family Album Quilt
Martingale & Co.,2000
Follow the life and times of Mary's Snowman. You'll have "quilt photos" like his baby picture (where he is the tiny flake on the right with the tiny little heart beating inside), meet his family, go to the beach, and finally attend his retirement party. It's a wonderful storybook quilt. There are also small companion projects for the seasons.
Mary also has many patterns that she has designed for all kinds of quilts and home decor. Here is a picture of her latest "hot seller"......a diaper bag pattern.
It has lots of pockets on the inside and outside. At the store where I work part-time, it is one of our biggest sellers, and the classes are a "going" thing now, too. They are so handy to make up and have on hand for any baby shower that may come along. They are also very handy to have for an everyday tote bag, not just for juvenile prints. Last fall they were a favorite teacher gift from mothers using school themed prints. I myself received one done in florals as a Christmas gift this year, and I "tote" it back and forth to work every day.
Mary also holds workshops and lectures for groups and guilds everywhere. She is extremely informative, entertaining, and is so willing to share and help others promote their passion of quilting. If your group or guild is looking for a good speaker or teacher, Mary's your girl!!

In the Works.....
It's a mystery!! I'm working on another mystery quilt (the first one being for retail shop owners) to be used on the free project page soon. And you can bet it will be scrappy! Several have requested another scrappy project and several have requested a mystery format.....so two in one, coming soon!.....
Tag Line of the Month:
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.
May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.

Cya,
Claudia
