"PUPS N' PAILS"

Wouldn't this be perfect for any boy's room?
A very talented guy named Scott Weaver pulled these precious characters out of his head and put them on paper. Scott is a busy guy with his own auto electric repair business, an active dad, and an avid golfer. He is sort of a "closet artist", not having a chance to get serious about using his artistic talent. He is always eager to draw anything for anyone, anytime. Along with his wife, LeAnn, they own a Tulsa quilt store--so naturally his talent finds an outlet there.

Scott "Gonzo" Weaver
I had the privilege of working on some of these blocks in his Pups N' Pails. My contribution was all of the hand appliquéd blocks. LeAnn's contribution was the fusible appliqué blocks and the layout design. Scott & LeAnn retail the patterns in a block-of-the-month format, in kit form, in the store and on their website at www.justquiltit.com .
Site seeing, anyone?
http://www.serialquilter.com/ Interesting catalog of gifts for quilters.
http://www.flynnquilt.com./freepattern.html This is a really useful technique to avoid wasting a lot of backing fabric. Scroll down. We tried this at the quilt store the other day (on our hands and knees on the carpet). IT WORKED! Instead of taking 3 yds for backing, we did it with 2. It is a little confusing, but most likely after you do this a few times, it will get easier. Use it on a small quilt first, until you understand how it works. Bear in mind that you will have a diagonal seam on the back. Iif you want the back of your quilt to look unique, you can do all sorts of piecing and design techniques to camouflage that diagonal seam. It is also much easier for a long arm quilter to set up your quilt on the frame with a diagonal seam than a straight one. Thanks, John Flynn!

http://www.zefrank.com/giveaway4/menu.html What happens when office supplies attack? Well, these pictures were sent in by people who probably were suppose to be working at the time. (should be rated PG, or perhaps PV, some items pretend to be violent).
http://www.darkharbor.com/snoopydance/ (Repeat) Just threw this one in because it puts me in a good mood while I'm composing newsletters! It's minimized in the background now as I type........:-)
What's New:
IT'S A MYSTERY KIT!!!
I know many of you out there have probably already started your "Here, Kitty, Kitty!" mystery project that started last month on the free page. HOWEVER, if you haven't started sewing yet---we now have fabric kits for sale for this project!! Very nice, 100% cotton fabrics. There are all the required fabrics to make the entire top and binding. (Backing and batting NOT included).
For quilt shops and guilds only, there's a new Mystery available called "The Mystery of the Half Moons". Join Granny in her quest to locate her misplaced glasses. Pattern in a format for copying, with copyright waiver for up to 100 copies comes in 3-ring binder with page-protected color and gray scale originals suitable for copying . Color PDF documents on CD included also.
Tag Line of the Month:
You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me
May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.
